Pegasus Christmas Party and Volunteer Appreciation Evening
That's a wrap! 2020 is done and what better way to finish the year than with our annual Christmas Party and Volunteer Appreciation Event. Sausages, ice creams and coffee (for the adults) was enjoyed by all, along with the mini horses, roving magician and live music. We even had a special visit from the big man himself, thank you Santa for taking time out of your busy schedule.
2020 may have thrown us a few distractions, but as always the Pegasus team adapted and delivered. Each year we celebrate the amazing contribution from our volunteers and this year was no exception.
And the winners are....
But that was not all; this year marks the 20th anniversary for Sheila and her volunteering services to Pegasus. Sheila has worked in all areas of our programs as a coach, stables and now looks after our tack every week ensuring it is clean and safe for use. Sheila is in almost every Wednesday and Friday to clean and repair our tack; however it is the conversations that brings a smile to everyone's faces - oh, and the banana bread on occasions. From everyone here, thank you Sheila for your dedication.
Jeff and Deej kept the music going with their unique contemporary Rootsy music, while kids were also entertained by a roving magician and mini horses and, of course, the big man himself, Santa.
There were also Christmas raffles, a craft store and lawn games.
And no one could complain about being hungry with the Lions Club of Belconnen cooking up a storm as they do every year, endless ice cream from Chameleon Ice Creamery and coffee for the adults and hot chocolate for the kids and kids at heart by Shotclock Espresso.
A huge thank you needs to go to the following, without whom we could not deliver such an amazing afternoon;

A huge thank you needs to go to the following, without whom we could not deliver such an amazing afternoon;
- Parbery - as our major sponsor, whos financial contribution ensures we can provide food and entertainment without taking much needed funds from our own services. Thank you also to the Parbery team for giving up their afternoon to volunteer at the event, ensuring our very own Pegasus volunteers could have a day off.
- Radford College for providing the venue, green grass and plenty of shade. This is our second year at Radford and we look forward to continuing this relationship in the years to come.
- Nerida Winters and her amazing mini horses
- Jeff and Deej for providing the music all afternoon
- and of course the Lions Club of Canberra Belconnen for once again cooking up the ever popular sausage sizzle
